Because nobody else here uses Craigslist.
Why do you use Craigslist? Just went and had a look, appears to be all scams and spam. Still if it had a user base id use it because fuck trademe and their rip off fees.
I heard that you can buy drugs on craiglist. I don't recall myself when craiglist first spread to New Zealand, but I guess it's here now.
It's got better searching, and it's de looks professional. I always thought Craigslist in the US was great.
You could buy and sell things easily and at no cost. Item wasn't what you thought?
Don't pay. Buyer won't pay?
Don't hand over the item. Anybody with half a brain could spot the scammers, because they were so obvious.
You know, the ones that claimed they were out of town, but could you ship it? Because they really needed "your item", with specific reference to that item pointedly omitted.
I looked for jobs on CL. I even met men on CL, although that was years ago and I understand the personals are a cesspit now. And I am told the sale are overrun by drug sales. TradeMe is the Kiwi way.
On trademe I had someone say he'd buy my car by PayPal and send a guy to pick it up. In my experience NZers are reluctant to use decentralised online services, like Craigslist. They prefer to use a service like TradeMe that has centralised control and ability, at least in theory.
I think it's great in the US when we are there. Use it for for sale stuff with no commission and to give away free stuff. Trademe is just low-rent eBay.

Having said that sex workers appear to love Craigslist in NZ You mean high-rent eBay. Because this isn't America and we have better alternatives.
